The Yurt Song
Fine Filk Penned by Lady Anna Tanner

Sung to the tune of The Moose Song

CHORUS
And it's Yurt, Yurt, I like a Yurt
I've never had anything quite like a Yurt
I've had many tents, and they made my back hurt
But I've never had anything quite like a Yurt

VERSES:
The first tent I had was my old Boy Scout pup
It kept me quite dry, but I couldn't stand up
Lying down, I learned much from my Scoutmaster, Kurt
I'd have gotten away then, if I'd had Yurt

My next was a dome tent, a mushroom, you know
And the rain it did fall and the wind it did blow
So, propelled by a tropical storm name of Gert
My dome ended up on the top of a Yurt

Then I got me a Hillary cabin from Sears
It held all my stuff and I had it for years
But the poles they got lost and that tent bit the dirt
Now you'd never make that big mistake with a Yurt

A Tipi seemed right for the War the next year
They're sturdy, they're roomy, I had me no fear
It got tagged "inauthentic" by a Laurel named Bert
Who would like to, but can't, say the same for a Yurt

My next-to-last try was a Panther Marquee
Erecting it took the entire Barony
When the project was over we all did assert
That by next year we'd trade the thing in on a Yurt.
